All of our volunteering opportunities require either a PVG (Buddies and Day Services) or Standard Disclosure (Alarm Responders) which will be paid for by Moray Council.  We also require volunteers to be reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, able to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  Training is available including Adult Protection.

Home Buddy – ref KE102 (16/8/21)

When – 2 hours once a week    
Role – To visit with lady in her own home for coffee and chat
Tasks – To visit with lady in her own home for coffee and chat. To provide social contact and reduce isolation. 
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mental health issues desirable but not essential.

Home Buddy – ref KE103 (23/8/21)

When – 1 hour once a week    
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home for coffee and chat. To provide social contact and alleviate loneliness.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. 

Alarm Responder x 2 ref KE118 (20/6/22)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder/keyholder for a couple – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed

Home Buddy – ref KE119 (20/9/22)

When – 1 hour once a week     
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home providing social contact over cuppa and chat. To play board games, do jigsaws and puzzles     
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties  desirable but not essential.

Shopping Buddy – ref KE120 (12/10/22)

When – 1 hour once a week      
Role – To carry out shopping for a lady
Tasks – To collect shopping list from lady and carry out shopping for her and deliver back to her
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential

Home Buddy – ref KE121 (28/10/22)

When – 2 hours once a week            
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home for coffee and chat
Tasks – To visit with gentleman at home for coffee and chat. To provide social contact and give main carer some respite  
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with Parkinsons and mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential
