All of our volunteering opportunities require either a PVG (Buddies and Day Services) or Standard Disclosure (Alarm Responders) which will be paid for by Moray Council.  We also require volunteers to be reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, able to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  Training is available including Adult Protection.

Escort Buddy – ref LHAN22 (reopened 9/1/20)

When – 3 hours Thursday morning
Role – To support lady to attend BALL Group in Elgin  
Tasks – To support lady to attend BALL Group. To either escort there and pick up afterwards or to attend with her.  To help maintain social contact. 
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential.  

Alarm Responder x 1 ref LHAN34 (reopened 14/12/22)

When – as required, emergency situations only
Role – Community Alarm responder/keyholder for a lady – must live within 30 minutes travel time   
Tasks – call and check well being of person who has activated alarm
Skills required – Understanding, calm in difficult situations, level headed

Home/Correspondence – ref LHAN35 (29/3/22

When – 1.5 hours once a week
Role – To visit lady at home for coffee and chat
Tasks – To visit with lady and support with general correspondence.  To provide social contact and reduce isolation.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with autism and mental health issues desirable but not essential.

Home Buddy – ref LHAN38 (1/1/24)

When – 1 - 2 hours once a week  (Not Thursday)   
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home providing social contact over cuppa and chat.         
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties and visual and hearing impairments desirable but not essential
