Activities/Coffee Buddy – ref FO32 (15/01/14)

When – 2 hours a week
Role – To offer support to gentleman to reduce isolation and to engage with his community  
Tasks – Initially to visit gentleman at home for coffee and chat.  To go for walks in the local community and have coffee out. Provide companionship and conversation.  Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Experience of working with people with learning disability desirable but not essential. Caring nature, patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Activities Buddy – ref FO36 (28/2/14)

When – to be arranged with volunteer and staff
Role – To offer support to gentleman to reduce isolation.
Tasks – To support gentleman in attending computer classes and also to go swimming. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Experience of working with people with mobility difficulties desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref FO39 (re-opened 12/10/16)

When – 2 hours once a week
Role – To accompany lady to go out for coffee
Tasks – To accompany lady to go out for coffee and to support her to attend activities in her local community. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mental health issues desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref FO48 (re-opened 12/4/16)

When – to be arranged
Role – To support lady to access social activities in her community  
Tasks – To support lady who is registered blind to access social activities in her community.  To assist lady to source and access transport.  To provide conversation and companionship. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties people with visual impairment can experience. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Social Buddy – ref FO49 (14/10/14)

When – 2 hours a week
Role – To support gentleman to access social activities in his community 
Tasks – To support gentleman who is registered blind and a wheelchair user to access social activities in his community.  To assist gentleman to source and access wheelchair appropriate transport.  To provide conversation and companionship. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend Adult Protection training and reviews.
Skills required – Awareness of the difficulties people with visual impairment experience and experience of working with a wheelchair user desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Home/Social Buddy – ref FO75 (re-opened 28/9/17)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                          
Role – To support lady to attend activities  
Tasks – To support lady with correspondence and to explore activities in the local community which may be of interest to her. To provide companionship and to help reduce isolation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home
Tasks – To visit with gentleman and support him for social chat and cuppa. To provide social contact and conversation. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.

Social/Shopping Buddy x 2 – ref FO81 (5/4/16)

When – 2 hours once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To support lady to go out in the community
Tasks – To provide support for lady to spend time out of nursing home environment. To accompany out shopping or taking out for walks. To provide social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mental health issues and mobility difficulties desirable but not essential (wheelchair user). Training provided. When – 2 hours twice a week                                                                                                          
Role – To support gentleman to access leisure facilities  
Tasks – To support gentleman to go swimming and use gym facilities. To help keep him motivated and to improve his fitness. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties (wheelchair user) desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Home Buddy – ref FO132 (10/11/17)

When – 2 hrs once a week                                                                                                      
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home for coffee and chat.  To help him with memory games and to listen to music. To provide conversation helping reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
Skills required – An awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with mobility difficulties, hearing impairment and diabetes desirable but not essential. Training provided. Patience, good communication skills, reliable and committed, trustworthy and respectful, ability to maintain boundaries and follow policies and procedures.  PVG check required, paid for by Moray Council

Home Buddy – ref FO134 (23/11/17)

When – 2 hours on a Wednesday between 12 and 2                                                                                                           
Role – To visit with gentleman in his own home  
Tasks – To visit with gentleman in his own home, providing social contact. Observe policies and procedures, maintain boundaries, attend training and reviews.
