Tenant Participation Strategy

The introduction of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 gave all local authorities a duty to develop and implement a strategy for tenant participation.  Our first strategy was developed in 2003.  Our current Tenant Participation Strategy (under review) was approved by the Communities Committee on 7 March 2017 for the period 2017-2020.  It includes an action plan which is reviewed each year.  

We have also developed an easy read version of the strategy (under review) which summarises the key points. 

Tenant participation is about tenants taking part in decision making processes and influencing decisions about housing policies, conditions and related services.  Find out more about how you can get involved.
