Apprentice, Skillseeker and Youth Training
If an adult resident in your property is undergoing a training course as an apprentice, we may be able to give you a discount on your Council Tax bill.
To qualify, the apprentice must be:
- employed to learn a trade, business or profession.
- undertaking a course of training that will lead to a recognised qualification.
- paid less than £209 gross (before deductions) per week and less than the salary that would be paid after completing the apprenticeship.

If an adult resident in your property is undergoing a training course as a Skill Seeker or a Youth Training trainee, we may be able to give you a discount.
To qualify, the skill seeker or youth training trainee:
- must be aged under 25
- must be undertaking a recognised course of training.
