How do I apply for Council housing?
Find out how to apply for our properties on our accessing Council housing page.
How do you allocate new build Council housing?
We have a Local Lettings Plan to help us decide who to allocate new build properties which are being let for the first time.
Designing new build housing
We have tried to design the new housing around the needs of the likely occupants. This means that, as far as possible, we have tried to:
- build family housing away from road traffic hazards where possible, close to play areas and open spaces
- build bungalows in clusters, on level plots, as close to bus stops as possible and away from play areas
Our 2-storey, family sized houses are usually semi-detached, have modern kitchens with space for a dining table, have an upstairs bathroom with over-bath shower and a downstairs toilet.
Our bungalows have small, manageable private gardens, modern kitchens with space for a dining table, bathrooms with level access showers as standard.
