Apply for Council Housing
To apply for council housing, your need to register on the apply4homes website. You can access this website from any computer or internet device, and if you don’t have internet at home, you can use a library to access it.
Once you have made your application on apply4homes, your information will be sent through to us for assessment, and we will contact you if we need any more information. Read our allocations and points leaflet (PDF) to learn how we assess your application. If your circumstances change at any point, you should update your application on the apply4homes website.
When you reach the top of the housing list, we will make you an offer, which will be sent to the email address you provided with your application. You will then be given four working days to view your offer, and accept or reject the property online, which can be done at any time of the day or night.
If you refuse two reasonable offers of accommodation within a period of one year, we will not make any further offers of accommodation to you for six months from the date of your last offer.
Applications will be valid for 12 months, at which point you will receive a reminder from us. If you do not respond to this, your name will be removed from the waiting list, but you can reapply at any time.
Due to such high demand for council properties, you could be waiting a very long time for a property. It’s important to check what other housing options are available.
