Recycling in Rural Areas
In November of 2011 a recycling collection service was introduced in all rural areas in Moray. Residents were provided with a blue, purple and brown bin and an orange box, which are serviced on a fortnightly basis. You can check when your collection day is using our online bin collection day tool .
For a full list of which materials go in which container, please see our Guide to using your recycling containers (PDF)
If you have not received these bins or require additional ones please contact us using the Contact Us details on this page.
In certain areas throughout the county it was necessary to move the collection point for bins and establish communal collection points. Communal collection points allowed us have larger bins at one collection point rather that many individual bins sitting at the road end or up long narrow farm tracks.
If you feel that you and your neighbouring properties would benefit from having a communal point rather than individual bins, please contact us using the Contact Us details on the left.
Hessian bags to assist in storing and transporting recyclable material to the communal point are available free of charge.
Excess recyclable material and items that are not collected by the kerbside collection service can also be taken to any of the Recycling Centres or Points located throughout Moray.
