Archives & Local Studies

The Archives & Local Studies Service for Moray offers a fascinating insight to Moray's history and to ancestry searches.

The service is based within Elgin Library, Cooper Park, Elgin, IV30 1HS.

Photocopier, free internet access and microfilm printer services are also available and a search service can be provided.

Opening Hours:

Monday 10.00am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Tuesday 10.00am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Wednesday Closed
Thursday 10.00am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Friday 10.00am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Saturday - first Saturday of the month only 10.00am to 2.00pm

Resources

All libraries have local history books for borrowing and a file of local historical information for reference.

Buckie, Forres and Keith libraries have copies of local newspapers, parish and census records, collections of maps and a small collection of photographs.
