Minibuses for Hire
Council Minibuses are available for hire to schools and community groups associated with education, religion, or social welfare. They are not available for general private hire.
Minibuses with up to 16 seats are available. A small number of these vehicles are fitted with rear tail-lifts for wheelchair clients.
Vehicles are available during evenings, weekdays and weekend subject to availability. Where the hiring group supplies its own driver he/she must hold a Moray Council "approved driver permit".
All vehicle hires are subject to availability. If there are no council minibuses available it may be possible to source a vehicle from elsewhere at an additional cost.
Vehicles without Driver – ALL drivers must have The Moray Council Driving Permit.
Daily Charge = £39.60 plus a mileage charge of
- 0 - 130 miles - 95 pence per mile
- 131 miles & over - 85 pence per mile
Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel. Any additional fuel required will be the responsibility of the hirer.
Vehicles must be returned in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to conform to this instruction will incur a valeting charge.
All vehicles hired from the Public Transport Unit carry an insurance excess of £1,000.
Vehicles with Driver
Minimum Daily Charge = £39.60
- 0 - 130 miles - 95 pence per mile + £15.90 per hour
- 131 miles & over - 85 pence per mile + £15.90 per hour
An additional surcharge will apply for weekends and Public Holidays - £17.48.
All charges include a 10% administration charge.
Public Transport Unit
