Moray Duke of Edinburgh's Award Committee (MDEAC)

Moray Duke of Edinburgh's Award Committee (MDEAC) is a registered Scottish charity (SCO43423) set up to support the adult volunteers and participants taking part in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award throughout Moray in partnership with Moray Council.

MDEAC is managed by a team of 5 office bearers, who also act as trustees for the Charity. 

Full membership of the committee is open to all group leaders and those involved in the day to day running of the DofE Award in Moray. As committee members, you can attend committee meetings to voice opinions or concerns and request assistance. The committee also offers an opportunity to exchange views and experiences.

Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

The Committee was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of 32 years service supporting volunteers and participants engaged with the DofE Award in Moray. The citation for the award recognises the contribution of all volunteers that have helped young people work towards their DofE Award.

Committee Tasks

Publicising the DofE Award to potential funders and adult volunteers.

Fundraising through managing participants' expedition fees paid and raising funds from other sources.

Engaging with partners and potential sponsors and continuing to develop links within the local and wider community.

Processing applications for funding to support young people and the adult volunteers for items such as expedition equipment and volunteer training costs.

Committee Meetings

The next meeting will be held in the Gallery of Elgin Library on 22 May 23 at 19:00. A calling notice will be sent out closer to the date.
