2.10 Performance

Road test

Method of Inspection

• Carry out a road test and check performance and noise levels

Reason for Rejection

• Where a vehicle has been road tested but the tester knows more efficient operation is normally obtained for the type of vehicle
• Noise levels in excess of what the tester knows are normally obtained for the type of vehicle

Gear box, drive shafts & bearings

Method of Inspection

• Check noise levels

Reason for Rejection

• Abnormal noises from the engine, transmission, drive shafts or bearings.
