I am requesting the following information from you in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.

1. How much have you:

a) spent on changing street names in the financial year 2021/22

b) spent on changing street names in the financial year 2022/23 so far?

2. Since April 2021, how many streets have you renamed?

3. Since April 2021, please can you provide a list of what you have renamed streets from and to?

2. & 3. During 2021 street names were approved and introduced to properties located on the Forres Enterprise Park, see FOI 101002993164. Properties were originally allocated to the address locality of "Forres Enterprise Park". There were no street name plates erected on this site prior to 2021; this signifies that there were no official street names in operation. Official addresses of properties on the site have retained the locality of "Forres Enterprise Park", but had the inclusion of the street name added. Where possible, property numbers have remained the same. The owner/developer of the site has paid for the erection of the street name plates. A large proportion of the site is still being developed.

In June 2022 we approved and introduced the street name March Road North, Buckie to a spur leading from March Road, Buckie where the occupiers had been using address which either referred to properties at another location and/or the address used by the occupier caused confusion for the location of the property.  The new street name now identifies the properties correctly and removes any confusion previously found; where possible property numbers have remained the same. There were no street name plates erected on this site prior to 2022, signifying there was no name allocated to the spur.
