Social, Emotional and Behavioural Needs (SEBN)

Our SEBN service offers targeted support to children and young people to help address their social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Primary and secondary pupils are referred to us by their school who will have followed and evidenced the staged intervention process involving a range of in-school, community and multi-agency supports. Our role is to build on this foundation.

Our key aims are to support the needs of a child displaying SEBN by:

  • Promoting their health and wellbeing;
  • Supporting participation and opportunity to access mainstream education;
  • Working in partnership with schools, families, young people and appropriate agencies to ensure a high quality of education appropriate to the needs of the child;
  • Offering support, advice and training opportunities to school staff.
