FOI Request - Empty Homes Council Tax Data

Please could you provide the following information regarding empty homes/long term empty homes as defined by Scottish Government as a private property that has been unoccupied and liable for Council Tax for six months or more:

1. The number of properties in your local authority area currently subject to the 200% council tax charge which are classed as empty homes/long term empty homes as at January 31st 2026, or, if this is not readily available, the most recent date for which data is held (please specify the date used).

2. Of these properties, how many have outstanding council tax arrears as at the same date – either January 31st 2026 or the most recent date data is held (please specify the date used).

3. The total value of council tax arrears associated with these properties as at the same date – either January 31st 2026 or the most recent date data is held (please specify the date used).

Please note, this request is specifically for empty homes/long term empty homes and not any other property eligible for the 200% charge such as 2nd homes/holiday homes.
