Request 101003957187
Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, I would be grateful if you could provide the following information.
1. Does your council provide transport for adults with disabilities to attend day services?
2. If not, does the council provide funding or financial support to help cover transport costs for adults with disabilities attending day services?
3. If the answer to either question is yes, please briefly outline the type of support provided.
Response 01-04-2026
1. Yes, transport is provided to services and assessed need for transport is completed by Social Workers at the point of referral. Eligibility for transport to day services is set out within our Transport Policy which is currently under review.
2. Not applicable
3. There remains a mix of transport with commissioned services (including escorts) or family members/ residential staff driving Mobility vehicles used to take people to services.
There is one external provider where transport provision to access a rural day service forms part of their contract, although this is under review.
