Request 101003854087
Scope and timeframe

A. Working days lost (monthly or, if not held monthly, termly/annual with the latest month separately):
1. Working days lost due to work-related stress.
2. Working days lost due to anxiety/depression (or combined “mental ill-health” if recorded that way—please state which).
3. Working days lost due to all-cause sickness (for context).
For each item above, where routinely held, please also provide a breakdown by job family (teachers; pupil support assistants; admin/clerical; janitorial/facilities; catering; other school-based).
B. Annual indicators (per academic year 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25 to date):
1. Headcount of employees with =1 absence episode coded as stress/anxiety/depression.
2. Headcount of employees with long-term absence (=20 working days) coded as stress/anxiety/depression.
3. Total FTE for the Education/Schools workforce (for denominators).
4. If routinely reported, average working days lost per FTE for stress/anxiety/depression.
C. Coding and definitions:
1. The absence reason codes used for stress, anxiety, depression and other mental ill-health, with any definitions/data dictionary.
2. Any internal guidance used to classify or report these reasons.
D. Management information:
Copies of any management/committee reports since 1 August 2023 that summarise stress-related absence trends in Education/Children’s Services.
Format
Please supply data in a machine-readable format (CSV or XLSX). Where held in a database, a simple export of the relevant fields is sufficient. For datasets, fields like month, job_family, reason_category, working_days_lost, employees_with_episode, employees_20plus_days, and fte would be helpful.
Disclosure control / personal data
I seek aggregate, anonymised figures only and no personal data. Where necessary, please apply standard disclosure control (e.g., suppress values <5).
Advice & assistance / cost
If you estimate this may exceed the section 12 cost limit, please advise under section 15 how I can refine it—for example, by providing service-level totals first, reducing the timeframe, or limiting job-family detail.
Published information
If any of the requested information is already published (section 25), please provide the direct URL and the exact document/table location.
Information not held / exemptions
If any part of the request is not held (section 17), please state this explicitly.
If you intend to withhold information, please provide a schedule of documents/fields withheld, the exemption/exception relied upon (e.g., s30/s33 FOISA or EIR 10), and the public-interest test where applicable.
