Please provide the most recent available data, for instance, from the last calendar or financial year, for your local authority area in an Excel format, on the following:
1. Playgrounds
a) The total number of publicly owned and managed playgrounds.
b) The number of these playgrounds that are accessible to children with disabilities (e.g. inclusive play equipment, wheelchair access, sensory-friendly areas).
2. Leisure centres
a) The total number of publicly owned and managed leisure centres.
b) The number of these leisure centres that provide facilities or programmes accessible to children with disabilities (e.g. accessible swimming pools, adaptive sports equipment, sensory rooms, inclusive fitness classes).
3. Public toilets
a) The number of public toilets there are in your area
b) The number of accessible toilets (e.g. wheelchair accessible or ambulant) there are in your area

1. Playgrounds:
a) 118
b) Inclusive Play Equipment - 118 have equipment which can be utilised by children/equipment users with additional support needs.
Wheelchair accessible equipment - (response provides information on equipment designed to be used without need for transfer from wheelchair).
Of the play parks listed above, 12 have equipment that is specifically designed to be used without transfer from wheelchairs. Of these 12 parks, 1 park has fully wet poured surfacing allowing unrestricted access to items, and 5 parks have the items directly connected to access paths; the remainder are installed in relatively close proximity to access paths or are surfaced with rubber grass matting safety surfacing.
Sensory friendly areas - (note: this includes items such as play panels/musical panels or musical items such as chimes or drums able to be used by children/play park visitors who are able bodied or with additional support needs or are wheelchair users): 20 play parks.
2. Leisure centres:
a) We have 6 x Leisure facilities owned by the Council
b) All of the facilities have access for children with disabilities with changing areas, lifting equipment etc. and there is no barrier to taking part in any activity or class etc. that is offered.
3. Public toilets:
a) & b) The information requested can be found in the response to a previous FOI request and is therefore exempt under Section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, information otherwise accessible.
