FOI Request - Councillor Information, Training, Liability and Allowances

1. Councillor Details.  For each currently serving councillor, please provide the following:
a) Full name
b) Age or year of birth
c) Professional qualifications (if any)
d) Previous employment or experience prior to taking office
e) Political party affiliation (if any)
f) Current role within the council (e.g. Council Leader, Committee Chair, Convener)
g) Current annual salary or allowance
h) Expense claims (total value for most recent financial year)
i) Any declared outside interests (e.g. employment, union roles, board memberships)

2. Training and Development
a) A list of all training courses or subjects offered to councillors in the past 3 years
b) Whether each training was mandatory or optional
c) Name(s) of internal or external training providers
d) Mode of delivery (e.g. in-person, online, self-paced)
e) Total cost to the council for each course or programme (or per year if grouped)

3. Personal Liability Cover / Indemnity
a) Does the council provide indemnity insurance or any personal liability cover for councillors (e.g. for mismanagement, breach of duty, or negligence)?
b) If yes:
i) Name of the insurer
ii) Summary of cover scope and limits
iii) Exclusions (e.g. fraud, wilful misconduct)
iv) Annual cost to the council

4. Employment / Allowance Terms
a) Any standard contract, code of conduct, or policy document that governs councillor pay, allowances, or role expectations
b) Any COSLA or internal guidance used by the council to determine payment conditions
c) If applicable, provide the most recent versions of these documents.
