I am requesting the following information for the academic year 2022–2023:

1.  The number of senior pupils (S5 and S6) in your local authority area who received the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

2.  If available, a breakdown of these recipients by:
• Age
• Gender
• Ethnicity
• Type of educational institution (e.g., secondary school, further education college) ?

3.  The total number of senior pupils (S5 and S6) enrolled in your local authority area during the same academic year?

1. 166 pupils received an EMA.

Age 17 - Male 36; Female: 38
Age 18 - Male 12; Female 8

We do not record ethnicity. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.

All attended Secondary Schools.
