Request the following information about Market Street Forres Iv36 1ef. From bypass at A96 to Victoria roundabout.

1.  What is the roads assignation, A road, B road or residential street.

2.  What is the permitted traffic allowed or expected on the said road. Is there any specific timings for amounts set out in policy.

3.  What is the surface construction of the road between the A96 turn off and the Victoria roundabout.

4.  As above, do you know or have you surveyed the substructure/layers make-up to see if they are up to code.

5.  What is the permitted weight limits for the street.

6.  Is there a permitted Heavy Goods Volume on this road and if so what is it and when was it last monitored.

7.  Can you provide the last time road was surveyed for damage, subsidence and cracking.

8.  Can you provide the last time the service inspection points were inspected for sinking or relative to road heights.

9.  What was results of the these surveys if done.

10.  Was any works recommended and or carried out.

11.  If so what are they and when.

12.  If none carried out was there a reason for that.

13.  Where does damage get reported to..

14.  What is policy of repairs once identified and noted.

Response 21-03-2025

1. A Class Road (A940).

2. Any traffic - there is no restriction on the road.

3. Hot rolled asphalt.

4. Not held. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.

5. No restriction on weight limit.

6. Survey work carried out on Market Street travelling southbound showed that over a 12 hour period (weekday) there was a total of 419 HGVs recorded which relates to 17.6% of all traffic and northbound a total of 309 which relates to 16.3% of traffic. This volume is not unusual for an A class road.

7. This road receives a safety inspection every month – the last inspection carried out was 18/02/2025.

8. Not applicable; no specific inspection for this, however the routine safety inspection would identify any issues.

9. There were no defects found as a result of the Safety Inspection on 18/02/2025.
