1.  What is the number of early years services by type in the Moray area (e.g., private, voluntary, local authority run)?

2.  What is the current funding model for private partner nurseries?

3.  How do you monitor the quality of early years provision in your area?

4.  How much funding does the local authority allocate to early years services annually?

5.  What is the total number of staff working in early years services in your local authority?

6.  What is the staff-to-child ratio in early years settings run by Moray Council?

7.  Please provide a copy of Moray Council's early years strategy or action plan.

2. PVI settings receive funded payments monthly in arrears

3. Continuous Improvement Officers (CIO) support settings with Contract monitoring on a termly cycle, using the relevant national documentation to support i.e. National Standard, Quality Framework, How Good is our ELC.
Those settings not meeting the National standard receive either enhanced or targeted support depending on how many areas of the Quality framework that are below the national standard requirement of 4/good. This support is from both the CIO’s and the Teaching and learning team.

4. Our POBE return (Provisional Outturn and Budget Estimates) which we provide to the SG shows £15,734,000 for ELC for 24/25.

5. Operational ELC staff (SEYPs,EYPs, EYSWs) 153, NMs 13, EYES 10, Central 10 = 186 total

6. Ratios for 3-5’s are 1:8 and for 2-3’s they are 1:5 – as per Care Inspectorate guidance
