FOI Request - Total Number of Teachers by Contract Type

I request the following data regarding teachers employed in council-operated schools:

1.  The total number of teachers employed under the following contract types for each year since 2017 (please specify whether the data is tracked by academic year or financial year):
•  Permanent contracts
•  Fixed-term contracts
•  Casual, supply, or any other teachers working without guaranteed hours.

2.  Please include a breakdown of the data by year, from 2017 to the most recent available year.

3.  If available, provide the council’s definition or criteria for categorizing contracts under “fixed-term” and “without guaranteed hours.”

4.  I request the data to be provided in Excel format (or another machine-readable format, if Excel is unavailable).

To minimize costs, I request the data in summary form, as it is currently recorded in HR systems, payroll systems, or any equivalent records.
