1.  Nutritional Standards Compliance:
What measures are in place to ensure that all primary school meals meet the nutritional standards set out in the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drink in Schools (Scotland) Regulations 2020?

How does the local authority ensure that feedback from pupils and parents regarding the quality of primary school meals is taken into account when developing or improving meal provision?

Response 03-01-2025

1. All menus are required by legislation to be nutritionally analysed, this is completed by inputting the menu through nutrition analysis software.

3. Annual survey is completed for parent for primary and secondary.  Annual survey is completed for secondary pupils.

4. Statutory nutrient standards for primary schools limit is 6.3 g.  This is achieved by minimising the fat content in meat dishes served, there is a standard that is required to by meet for oils and spreads: oils must contain a total saturated fat content which does not exceed 16g per 100g, Spreads a total saturated fat content which does not exceed 20g per 100g.

5. Site visits take place at least once every 2 months to review all aspects of the meals provided.
