1. In EACH of the last two full financial years (2022/23 and 2023/24) and so far this financial year (i.e. April 1, 2024 onwards) how many companies and/or individuals has the council’s trading standards officers/department reported to police or the Crown for alleged criminal breaches of the law? Please break the figures down for each year and also please break the figures down into the different alleged crimes, i.e. the sale of counterfeit goods.
2. Please provide any information you can on successful prosecutions as a result of the reports made to police or the Crown during the period above.
3. How many seizures has the council’s trading standards officers/department made in EACH of the last two full financial years (2022/23 and 2023/24) and so far this financial year (i.e. April 1, 2024 onwards)? Please break the figures down to give as much detail as possible on the nature of items seized (i.e. vapes, foodstuffs etc.) and the quantity of each seized item.
4. Please provide me with details as to instances of food fraud detected by the council in EACH of the last two full financial years (2022/23 and 2023/24) and so far this financial year. Please break the figures down to show the nature of the food seized and details of how the food was fraudulent (i.e. beef sold as lamb).
