I would like to request the following information regarding probationary teachers within your local authority:

1. The number of probationers requested and subsequently employed each year since 2017.

2. Of those probationers, how many secured:

a) Fixed-term contracts

b) Placement on the casual supply list
If you are unable to provide this information since 2017, please provide what is available.

2018/19 – 57 requested 46 started
2019/20 – 27 requested 46 started
2020/21 – 25 requested 32 started
2021/22 – 34 requested  71 started
2022/23 – 54 requested 81 started
2023/24 – 36 requested 57 started
2024/25 – 38 requested 40 started
