FOI questions
1. What was the total number of outstanding unpaid work hours that need to be completed as part of Community Payback Orders within the local authority as at today's day October 4, 2024.
2. Also can I ask what the number of unpaid work hours were that were due to be completed under a CPO in 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 and for each year since and including the part year of 2024/25.
3. For each of the time periods referred to in 2. can I ask how many of those hours will not be completed. And what are the reasons for those not being completed.
4. Can I ask how many for all the years in 2. and part year of those hours were written off by the local authority and won't be completed and what the reasons were. [Similar question to 3 that refers to those situations that happened during Covid.]
5. Can I ask how many hours lost for all the years in 2. and part year of those hours were the result of CPO breaches.
6. What are the current activities within the local authority that can be carried out as part of the unpaid work requirement of a Community Payback Order currently. If the council does not have a definitive list, please list all activities that contributed to an unpaid work requirement of such an order over the past three years.

6. We do not hold a definitive list, however all work must be of benefit to the local community and not replace any paid employment opportunities.
Routine squad work includes:- painting and decorating of community spaces and school halls; general tidy up of environmental and community areas; litter collection; grass cutting and gardening; maintenance of footpaths in rural locations; snow and ice clearing during winter months; woodworking; bench making, making raised beds and craftwork which benefits day centres; nurseries and costal paths etc; collecting and delivery for the Christmas Toy Appeal; removal/moving of furniture; planting, growing, harvesting and distribution of vegetable produce; upcycling furniture. Every year we also have “one off” requests, for example assisting with the erection of marquees for community events. Individual placements are also arranged with non-profit organisations which include working in a charity shop and the local foodbank.
