FOI Request - Tree Preservation Orders and Related Applications

1. The number of trees currently registered with Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs).

2. The number of applications received from insurance companies to fell trees with TPOs, within the following timescales:

  - 2024 to date
  - Jan 2019 – Dec 2023
  - Jan 2014 - Dec 2018

3. The number of successful applications from insurance companies to fell trees with TPOs, within the following timescales:

   - 2024 to date

Response 09-10-2024

1) We do not keep records of the number of individual trees covered by TPO designations.  Several designations cover areas of woodland as well as residential areas where private gardens are covered.  As such it is not possible or practical to compile a total count of the total number of trees that fall within TPO's across Moray.  However, where individual trees are designated they will be highlighted on the individual TPO plan.  Each individual TPO designation can be found here:

2) No applications were received from any insurance company over the time scales provided.

3) As above, no applications have been received.
