FOI Request - Elective Home Education 2023-2024

Please provide the following data on Elective Home Education (EHE):

1. The number of school pupils who were newly registered as EHE in the academic year of 2023-24

2. If time allows, please could you also provide the total number of school pupils who were registered for EHE in the academic year of 2023-24

3. If time allows, please could you provide the number of pupils who have moved from elective home education back into school in the academic year of 2023-24

Response 01-10-2024

1. 6 pupils

2. & 3. There are more than 300 open and closed cases, and we would have to look in each file individually to provide a robust answer. This would cost the Council in excess of £600 of staff time. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (excessive cost), we are therefore unable to comply with this request.
