1.  How many of Moray’s towns are currently monitored 24/7 by CCTV and of those, how many cameras have been installed in each of the said towns?

2.  Are all open space CCTV cameras operated by Moray Council and monitored by Police Scotland in good working order and maintained regularly?

1. This information is exempt under section 35(1)(a) of FOISA: the prevention or detection of crime. The public interest test has been considered and it is understood that some information is already in the public domain; however, to give further specifics would be detrimental to the effectiveness of the Public Space camera. Nonetheless we can confirm:

Public Space CCTV cameras are owned and maintained by Moray Council. They are located in: Buckie, Elgin, Forres, Keith and Lossiemouth. These cameras are monitored and operated by Police Scotland. www.moray.gov.uk/CCTV

2. The open space CCTV cameras operated by Moray Council and monitored by Police Scotland are on a maintenance contract.
