1.a) How many homeless households you placed in accommodation outside your LA area in the financial year 2023/24. Please provide a breakdown of which local authority areas they were placed. 

b) Please also advise how many were with private landlords, in hostels or in hotels.

2. How many homeless households you placed in accommodation outside your LA area  in the financial year 2023/24 where incentive payments were paid upfront to private landlords to accept them. Please advise the total spending (if any) in this respect.

3. How many homeless households you placed in accommodation inside your LA area  in the financial year 2023/24. Please also advise how many were with private landlords, in hostels or in hotels.

4.a) How many complaints against private landlords within your LA area you received in the financial year 2023/24 for failing to maintain required minimum standards. 

b) How many inspections you carried out as a result and 

c) how improvement notices you issued - whether as a result of these complaints or proactively.

5.a) How many complaints against private landlords within your LA area you received in the financial year 2023/24 for failing to maintain required minimum standards. How many inspections you carried out as a result and how improvement notices you issued - whether as a result of these complaints or proactively - were for properties that the Council had placed tenants in.

Response 07-08-2024

1.a) The number of households that were referred to and housed by other local authorities is between 1 and 5. The referrals were to Aberdeenshire Council and Aberdeen City Council. The low numbers in this response may result in the identification of individuals. This information is therefore exempt from release under Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Personal information. 

b) They were all housed in local authority accommodation - not with private landlords.

3. We housed 254 households permanently in local authority accommodation in our LA are during this period. We also nominated 83 households to other RSL partners during this period. We placed 356 households in temporary accommodation during the period - 134 of these were in hotel type accommodation.
