FOI Request - Energy Cost Cutting and Net Zero Targets

I am requesting the following information in connection with long term energy cost cutting, and/or sustainability/net zero targets, in particular regarding the recommissioning, or continued operation/maintenance/servicing of existing CHP units, and/or the suitability of solar panels.

1. Contact details for those individuals who would most likely be in a position to discuss the above. (please feel free to pass this email on to them directly).

2. Contact details for the individuals responsible for the management of the CHP units across the council jurisdiction (whether the units are operational or decommissioned. These people may work in different departments for example school provisions or leisure centre provisions.

3. Contact details for decision makers in the Energy/Sustainability team if that differs from the above.

4. Engine size of the CHP units , (eg 150kw) (this can be found on service documentation or a panel on the front of the unit housing itself)

5. Number of CHP units in situ' (operational or otherwise) across the council jurisdiction

6. Contract End Date/s and current service provider for any service contracts currently in place.

Should any of this information not be available to me, please supply what IS available to me.

Response 01-07-2024

1. The Teams who would be best placed to assist would be the Energy Team energy@moray.gov.uk and Climate Change Team climatechange@moray.gov.uk.

2. The maintenance and management of the systems within Council ownership/responsibility is undertaken by the Council’s Maintenance Team propertyhelpdesk@moray.gov.uk.

3. The Service Manager responsible for both the Energy Team and Maintenance Team is the Property Asset Manager who can be contacted at propertyhelpdesk@moray.gov.uk.

4. The Council has two buildings with CHP systems one 22kw and the other building has two 30kw units.

5. Moray Council has two buildings with CHP systems.

6. The Council has a maintenance framework for all planned and reactive maintenance which was tendered last year and will run for a minimum of three years.
