I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act relating to employment tribunals, settlement agreements and the total cost to the council.

Specifically, please can you send me:

Employment tribunals:

1.  How many Employment Tribunals have been brought against Moray council over the last 5 years?  If it is less than 5, please just confirm under 5.

2.  Please specify the total cost to the council from Employment Tribunals in the past 5 years?

3.  Does the cost and nature of Employment Tribunals get reported to committee?

4.  If No, please explain why? (As it is the public money and should be transparent and accountable for the costs incurred)

5.  Do costs from grading appeals get reported to committee?

Settlement agreements:

6.  Have any settlement agreements been reached at the Moray Council within the last 5 years prior to tribunal? Yes/ No

7.  Please specify the total cost to the Moray council in settlement agreements over the past 5 years?

8.  Do the cost of settlement agreements and nature of the settlement agreement get reported to committee?

9.  If No, please explain why? (As it is the public money and should be transparent and accountable for the costs incurred)

2. Due to the low number of cases, the release of this may result in the identification of individuals. This information is therefore exempt from release under Section 38(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - personal information.

4. Paid for through allocated budgets, so there are no additional monies required. In addition, there are no disclosure agreements in place.

6. We do not settle claims without a tribunal claim being lodged.
