2. Do you already have or considered or already ruled out the possibility of a fine and/or escalation point for repeat offenders or any other penalty?
3. Which department within your council is responsible for implementing, managing and monitoring this law?
4. If you have implemented a fine how much is it, how long do offenders have to pay and is there an escalation process for repeat offenders?
Response 20-05-2024
1. Our process of dealing with un-chipped dogs is attached. It requires the Animal Health Officer (AHO) to raise a case with Police Scotland.
2. We would give them advice to have microchipped but do not have the resources to escalate any further than that.
3. It would come under Environmental Health.
4. We have not implemented a fine under this regulation as we would leave that to Police Scotland.
