1.  How much has the council spent on developing a net zero strategy?

2.  What steps is the council taking to reduce carbon emissions to reach net zero?

Response 14-02-2024 

1. Not held. The Council's Climate Change Strategy was developed internally. Staff time is not split by function; thus we are unable to provide this information. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.    

2. The Council's Climate Change Strategy sets a target of net zero emissions by 2030 and can be found here: http://www.moray.gov.uk/downloads/file136442.pdf. It is therefore exempt under section 25 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, information otherwise accessible. 

The Council's Climate Change Plan and Routemap to Net Zero is updated annually and sets out how the Council is working to reduce carbon emissions, including on building heat and electricity, transport, waste, operating emissions, procurement and investment, nature and carbon sequestration, and external influences.
