FOI Request - EV Charger at Tomintoul
Request 101003451524
Moray claims to be on its journey to Net Zero - Climate Change - Moray Council
The charger at Tomintoul is owned by Moray Council. In August 2023 it was broken.On 5th December the charger is still broken.
I therefore ask for the following information under FOI;
1) Why is it taking more than 5 months to repair this unit?
2) What is the loss in revenue from the unit being out of action?
3) When will the charger be repaired and functional again?
4) The AC connector is broken – when will this be repaired?
5) The DC CCS connector shows a Charging error, when will this be repaired?
6) Why do you allow Charge Place Scotland (CPS) to show the unit is available when you know that it's broken?
Response 04-01-2023
1. Unfortunately there has been a manufacturer's parts availability issue for this brand of charger for a number of months. This is entirely outwith the control of the Council and Yunex who are the repair company. The Council and Yunex are currently working hard to find a solution to get the charger repaired as soon as possible.
2. Not held. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.
3. Yunex hope that the manufacturer will be in a position to supply parts to them during the first quarter of 2024 but due to the aforementioned availability issues that is not entirely certain. As stated in the response to Question 1, the Council and Yunex are currently working hard to find a solution to get the charger repaired as soon as possible.
4. See response to Question 3.
5. See response to Question 3.
6. This matter relates to the Charge Place Scotland app which is managed by them. This question should be directed to Charge Place Scotland.
