I am writing to enquire about the resources and initiatives that local authorities have committed to address equality for Gypsy Travellers within their area.

Specifically, I would appreciate information on the following:

1. How priorities are identified with regard to the distribution of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion resources and funding.

2. Any policies, programs, or projects dedicated to improving the living conditions and opportunities for Gypsy Travellers.

3. (a) Any partnerships or collaborations with local organisations or advocacy groups focused on Gypsy Traveller rights and inclusion.

3 (b) Data or statistics regarding the progress and outcomes of these efforts, if available.

Potential opportunities for additional specialist housing provision for Gypsy Travellers will be considered via the Local Development Plan process, available here http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_146723.html

2. We manage unauthorised encampments in Moray using a protocol that is based on good practice and the Guidance for Local Authorities on Managing Unauthorised Camping by Gypsy Travellers in Scotland: Scottish Government; April 2017.

3a) Moray Council were also represented on the Local Authority officer group for Negotiated Stopping Pilot.
