1.  In the academic year 2022-2023, the number of instances of abuse aimed at teachers and staff members from pupils.

This is any form of abuse reported in school (primary and secondary) aimed at a teacher or staff member – this includes verbal and physical abuse.

2.  In the academic year 2022-2023, the number of instances of abuse aimed at pupils from pupils.

This is any form of abuse reported in school (primary and secondary) aimed at a pupil from another pupil – this includes verbal and physical abuse.

2. Any incidents would be recorded in individual pupil files. We would have to search through every file. This task would cost the Council in excess of £600 of staff time. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (excessive cost), we are therefore unable to comply with this part of the request.
