FOI Request - Disabled Parking Fines

1.  Annually, from 2010 to date, how many parking fines were issued in your council area for parking in a disabled bay without permission, and how much total revenue from such fines was collected.

1. This would be recorded as 'misuse of a reserved bay' and may relate to parent and child spaces, electric vehicle charging bay or a disabled bay. 

In order to extract those relating to parking in a disabled bay 3,000 records would need to be interrogated. Each record would have to be opened and examined to see if it can be determined what type of bay it relates to - this will take around 3 mins x each record. This will take in the region of 150 hours to check all the records and this task would cost the Council in excess of £600 of staff time. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (excessive cost), we are therefore unable to comply with this the request.
