1.  What percentage of your workforce have completed training relating to “trauma Informed” practice?

2.  Are you able to demonstrate that your organisation is embedding destigmatising language and practices relating to care experienced people?

3.  How many Sibling groups have been brought into your care and separated from their siblings due to reasons other than safety since 5/2/20?

4.  How many placement breakdowns have care experienced children and young people experienced in your local authority area since 5/2/20?

5. Does your local authority either formally or informally exclude care experienced children from education?

6.  By what date do you intend to cease the practice of informal or formal exclusions of care experienced children?

7.  Does your local authority use reduced timetables (sometimes known as short timetables) as a way of reducing exclusions for care experienced pupils?

8.  How many school days have been lost due to absence since 5/2/20 (could I have separate figures for both care experienced pupils and non-care experienced pupils please?

9.  How many uses of restraint have been recorded against care experienced children in all settings including residential care settings, education etc in your local authority are since 5/2/20?

10.  How much has been spent in your local authority area to profit making companies delivering children’s residential care since 5/2/20?

11.  Does your local authority intend to end the practice of giving profit making companies contracts to deliver children’s residential care by 31st March 2024?

1. A range of our training (for example Safe and Together) can be taken to be trauma-informed and percentage of these varies, but is approximately 80% of practitioners who have undertaken some form of training with e trauma informed lens.

2. The adoption of solution orientated approach to all meetings can demonstrate the embedding of destigmatising language and practices. This approach is being introduced across the service by the revision of relevant procedures and templates as well as training. Feedback from those involved in the piloting and early introduction of this approach has been positive.
 

3. This exercise would require me to manually search 44 months of records and Carefirst. This task would cost the Council in excess of £600 of staff time. In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (excessive cost), we are therefore unable to comply with this part of the request.

5. As per our exclusion policy, any care experienced child is only excluded in consultation with either the Chief Social Work Officer or Head of Education with plans in place to support the child.

8. These are the figures for CEYP and Non CEYP students covering the period from 05/02/2020 to the end of 2022/23 academic year:
CEYP – 12.9% absence rate which represents 17,332 school days
Non CEYP – 7.7% absence rate which represents 510,753 school days

9. We would have to look in every pupil file to get this information. This task would cost the Council in excess of £600 of staff time.
