To ask the Council:
 
1. The total number of social houses within the council area
 
2. The total number of those houses that are categorised as
a) of a tolerable standard  
b) not of a tolerable standard
 
3.  Number of houses within each EPC band  
4. A breakdown of the type of property within each band (Bungalow, semi-detached etc)

Please note, the response below relates to Council owned properties only. 

For other information please note that the Scottish Housing Regulator publishes performance data for all social landlords which is available at: https://www.housingregulator.gov.scot/landlord-performance/statistical-information.  
However, the information you have requested is not available at a local authority level and would only provide you with the number of properties for each landlord (refer to Stock data - all social landlords dataset).

The main reason for failing is Element 11 Electrical Testing.   Housing investment works over the past decade or so involved key elements of electrical upgrade work as part of planned/cyclical maintenance programmes.  However, this work was recorded on partial electrical certificates rather than full EICRs, meaning that most of our properties are slightly below the required standard.  We have set aside additional investment to ensure the non-compliant properties are inspected to the required standard but were unsuccessful in procuring an external contractor.  We are currently re-tendering this contract to attract a wider range of contractors.
