I am enquiring about preparations ahead of the May local elections now that voters will be required to have voter ID.

1a. Has your council made any assessments on the potential impact that the requirement for voters to show ID will have, for example on voter turnout or on staffing needed?

1a  There are no local elections scheduled in May 2023 in Scotland, elections are only occurring in England and Wales. The elections office on behalf of the Returning Officer will make assessments on impact of the Elections Act 2022 implications in due course with reference to the experiences and feedback of the English and Welsh authorities during their May 2023 local elections.
