FOI Request - Geothermal Potential in Moray

Request 101003282772

I study low enthalpy geothermal potential in shallow aquifers across northern Scotland (north of Central Belt) with the idea it may be useful for decarbonising district heating and/or community heating demand in larger public buildings. I’m 11/2 years into the project , and have made a suitability map resource to identify areas of significant potential, and the Inverness-Elgin area, and particularly Forres is of interest.

Going forwards, I am now trying to identify locations that may benefit from in depth site investigations for ground-source heat-pump (GSHP)/shallow geothermal suitability. This would be used as a case study to exemplify assessing community-scale GSHP feasibility in Scotland.
I was wondering:
1.  Is this work of interest to Moray Council, and if so, could you please put me in touch with the relevant people to discuss it further?
2. Are there any early stage plans for sites/public buildings/leisure centres ect, in Moray that might benefit from a study of their shallow geothermal potential?
3.  In particular, are there any such sites that may be involved with the CARES scheme (https://www.gov.scot/policies/renewable-and-low-carbon-energy/local-and-small-scale-renewables/)  (or similar), that you think this work may be applicable to?
