I am writing to request information regarding the forecasted budget for social work departments operated by the local HSCP, as agreed by the Integrated Joint Board.
I would like information about the following:
1. As of 12/2/2023, what budget has been suggested for the HSCP by the IJB for financial year 2023/24?
2. As of 12/2/2023, how much money of the above figure would go to social work?
3. Regarding the above figure (Q2), what are the projected shortfalls of what budget the social work department needs and what it will receive?
4. As of 12/2/2023, how is It predicted the 23/24 budget would be split across Children and Families, Adults and Justice?
5. As of 12/2/2023, how many FTE social workers work under the HSCP (or council)?
6. As of 12/2/2023, how many residents actively receive social work input?
7. For 23/24, is the number of residents under social work input expected to increase and if so, what predicted increase is expected?
8. What is the average predicted costs for the year 2023/24 across the year, of a resident who requires social work input?
9. In the year 2022/23, what was the budget for social work?
10. In the year 2022/23, how much of a shortfall was the social work department working under?
11. What is the average cost of a resident receiving social work input, in 2022/23?

6. The latest figure we can give is that as of 2908 people received a social work service in 2021/22. 8. Home care is currently costed at £20 an hour. A costing of overall social work costing has not been calculated and is not a metric we would ever do due to the complexity of cases and services.
