In accordance with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, I would be grateful if you could provide the following information: the number of schools which your local authority runs which finished the last academic year (2021/22) in financial deficit, and the value of this financial deficit.

1. We cannot provide figures as at the end of the 2021-22 academic year but based on the end of the 2021-22 financial year the response is as follows:-

A total of 5 schools were in deficit as at 31.03.22.
The total value of the deficit was (£11,553)
