FOI Request - Disposable Items for School Meals

In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, I would be grateful if you could comply with the following request.

1. Please provide me with details of how many single-use disposable items were purchased by your local authority for school meals in (a) 2019/20 (b) 2020/21 and (c) 2021/22, broken down by item type.

For instance, this could include items such as food packaging, polystyrene cups for soup, plastic packets for sandwiches etc. Please provide a breakdown by item type and year.

2. Please also provide details of any information the local authority holds on the volume of waste produced which is linked to the use of single-use disposable items for school meals, broken down by each of the aforementioned years.

b) The response to your request can be found here. Please note that this year the school meals in primary were delivered into classrooms and the secondary people were only allowed take away food.  

c) The response to your request can be found here. Please note that some secondary schools were still pre order only and take away.

2. Not held. We do not have this information as the pupils can leave the premises for the secondary schools and if the products is compostable this goes in the food waste. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.
