Can I please request the following information?
 
1. How many communal bins does the council have/operate, every year for the past six (including this year)?
2. How many bins have been lost/stolen in the past six years (divided per year)?
3. How much money is spent on replacing bins every year for the past six (including this year)?
4. Any information from all reports, correspondence or communications relating to the decision to tag bins with radio tags
5. How much does the council spend on communal bins every year for the past six (including this year)?
6. How many complaints did the council receive regarding communal bins? Can this be presented every year for the past six years (including this year)?

The above totals are for all communal bins, varying in sizes from 140 litres to 1280 litres

3. Bins in communal locations comprise of individual unit sizes of: 140 litre, 240 litre, 360 litre, 660 litre, 1100 litre and 1280 litre. Bins are allocated in the various sizes depending on the material stream they are sited to contain and the service frequency they are scheduled for. We must also take into consideration the space available when assessing appropriate allocation. Therefore, records are not kept separate for the spend specifically attributed to bins for communal areas. Information that is not held falls under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - Information not held.

4. We do not tag any domestic/communal/commercial bins.

5. There is a budgetary commitment of £100k annually for replacement bins, and communal areas are managed within this, along with individual residential properties.
