FOI Request - Health and Wellbeing Census

Request 101003171467

I am requesting the following information under freedom of information legislation:

1. In your local authorities schools can I get the completion rates of the health and wellbeing survey for the local authority as a whole and schools individually.

Response 11-11-2022

1. Within the table provided there are a few anomalies as shown where percentages exceed 100% (Shaded in Red). These anomalies relate to the differences between the school census and pupils from the schools undertaking the survey. During the course of a school year the school rolls change with pupils joining and leaving schools. The percentages are calculated based upon the annual pupil census, which is carried out during September.

As the survey took place during April, May and June, completely accurate percentages would only be possible to calculate if a school census was carried out, on the same day, for every day the Survey took place. The percentages would have to be calculated based on the number of children who completed the survey for each day for which the survey took place against the school census on each of those days. This would have been a complex and resource intensive process to undertake. The anomalies as indicated relate to 0.12% of all pupils P5-P7 & S1-S6 and do not significantly affect the overall percentages.
