I am requesting the following under freedom of information legislation:

1. Can you provide a list of Primary and Secondary Schools which are over due a new school building?

2. Can you provide the list of schools that are over due for a replacement, the year that they were due to be replaced and the date (if any) that a new school building is due to be finished?

1. There are no Moray schools that are overdue a new school building.
Moray Council complete 5 yearly condition surveys of buildings to ensure that current school buildings are fit for purpose that will inform an asset management plan to raise or maintain standard. A new building will be considered if:
a. it is more cost effective to build a new school building rather than maintaining or undertaking a major refurbishment of the current school building.
b. the future primary or secondary school capacity requirement is unable to be met by current school building in a specific area
 
2. There is no list of schools overdue for replacement; however, the following new building and/or major refurbishments projects are planned, but not yet approved:
a. Elgin High School extension (additional capacity requirement due to residential development) - operational 2026
b. Buckie High School major refurbishment & extension or new build (current building condition/additional capacity due to planned residential development) - operational circa 2028
c.  Forres Academy  major refurbishment or new build (current building condition) operational circa 2029

The following new build is in the design stage:
a. Findrassie Primary School (additional capacity requirement due to residential development) - operational 2025/6
