I am requesting the following under freedom of information legislation.

In the most recent financial year:

1. In your local authority area what is the minimum pay (per hour) pupil support assistants (or the equivalent role – classroom assistants etc) receive?

2. In your local authority area what is average pay (per hour) pupil support assistants (or the equivalent role – classroom assistants etc) receive?

3. In your local authority area what is the minimum pay  (per hour) that is paid to a council employee?

In the financial year 2007/2008:

4. In your local authority area what was the minimum pay (per hour) a pupil support assistant (or the equivalent role – classroom assistants etc) received?

5. In your local authority area what was the average pay (per hour) a pupil support assistant (or the equivalent role – classroom assistants etc) received?

6. In your local authority area what is the minimum pay (per hour) that is paid to a council employee?

Response 10-10-2022

1. As at 30th September 2022, Pupil Support Assistant:  Grade 3, SCP 7 = £10.48 per hour.
Please note, Classroom Assistant is a separate role and is remunerated accordingly.         

2. As at 30th September 2022, Average pay for Pupil Support Assistants =  £10.63 per hour.
Please note, Classroom Assistant is a separate role and is remunerated accordingly.

3. As at 30th September 2022:  Grade 1, SCP2 = £9.91 per hour.

4. As at 1st April 2007, Pupil Support Assistant:  Grade 3 = £7.60 per hour.
Please note, Classroom Assistant is a separate role and is remunerated accordingly.

5. As at 1st April 2007, Average Pay for Pupil Support Assistants = £7.85 per hour.
Please note, Classroom Assistant is a separate role and is remunerated accordingly.

6. As at 1st April 2007:  Grade 1 = £6.17 per hour.
